Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, farm managers, and other agricultural professionals.
- Sell agronomy products such as fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, herbicides, and crop protection products.
- Promote services like soil testing, crop consulting, and precision agriculture technologies.
- Meet or exceed sales targets set by the company.

Technical Consultation & Support:
- Provide technical advice to clients regarding crop production, pest management, soil health, and irrigation systems.
- Conduct soil tests and analyze results to recommend appropriate products and treatments.
- Advise on crop rotation, fertility management, and integrated pest management (IPM).

Market Research:
- Stay up-to-date on the latest agronomic trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Research customer needs and market trends to tailor sales strategies and product offerings.
- Monitor competitor products and services, ensuring the company stays competitive.

Customer Service:
- Provide after-sales support, troubleshooting product issues, and answering customer questions.
- Build long-term relationships by providing ongoing support and follow-up services.

Product Knowledge & Education:
- Stay informed about the products you're selling, including the benefits and limitations of various fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds.
- Organize and conduct field demonstrations, workshops, or training sessions to educate customers about new products and agronomic techniques.

Administrative & Reporting Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales, and forecasts.
- Prepare reports for management regarding sales activities and performance.
- Handle administrative duties like invoicing, scheduling appointments, and following up on orders.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Agronomy Knowledge: Strong understanding of crop science, soil health, pest management, and sustainable farming practices.
- Sales Skills: Ability to sell and negotiate in a business-to-business (B2B) environment.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex agronomic concepts in simple terms to farmers and clients.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assess customer needs and offer practical, science-backed solutions.
- Customer Focus: Strong emphasis on building long-term relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage a sales territory, and meet sales goals.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with precision agriculture tools and data analytics software is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, or a related field is typically required.
- Previous experience in agronomy sales, farming, or a related agricultural role is often preferred.
- Certifications or training in crop protection, soil management, or agricultural products may be beneficial.
This role often requires a mix of office work and field visits, where sales reps will meet with customers on their farms or at agricultural events. Having a passion for agriculture and problem-solving is a big plus!
