We're hiring a dependable Local Truck Driver to support both transportation and grain operations at our Platteville location. This role combines local driving with hands-on grain facility work, offering variety, stability, and the chance to be an important part of a cooperative that serves local producers and customers.
In this position, you’ll safely transport bulk grain and fertilizer while assisting with daily grain handling and facility operations under the direction of the Location Manager. If you enjoy local routes, working with agricultural equipment, and being part of a close-knit team, this role may be a great fit.
Transportation & Delivery
Perform intrastate hauling of bulk grain, fertilizer, and agricultural products
Safely load and unload trucks at farms, facilities, and customer locations
Operate hopper bottom, tanker, and van trailers as needed
Maintain delivery schedules and communicate delays promptly
Equipment & Safety
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Maintain clean, safe, and road-ready equipment
Operate trucks with manual transmissions
Comply with DOT regulations and CDL requirements
Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training
Grain Facility Operations
Load, unload, and transfer grain and grain products
Operate skid loaders, forklifts, and grain handling equipment
Use scales, moisture meters, dryers, and conveyance systems
Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance concerns
Clean trailers between products and maintain facility housekeeping
Team & Professionalism
Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company professionally
Work collaboratively while also managing tasks independently
Support facility operations and complete other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Valid Class A CDL with at least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
Current Federal Medical Card
Ability to operate manual transmission trucks
Strong safety record, reliability, and attendance
Preferred Qualifications
Tanker endorsement
Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
Agricultural or grain handling experience
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
Climb in and out of trucks multiple times per day
Sit for extended driving periods
Tolerate dusty environments
Perform on-road and off-road driving, including farm fields
Home every night – no long-haul routes
